Water Bottle In the Front

Always wanted to try the usefulness of an aerobottle. So many variations are out there for us to choose from but i don't think all are available in Singapore retailers.

I intend to use it on top of the standard 1litre squeeze bottle on my downtube. I had 70.3 distances in mind when i wanted to get this. i thought having another 1litre of water will be idea and having in on the aerobars seems convenient. And also having an aerobottle makes the tribike looks complete.

Got over to TEF last saturday to get myself one Profile Design Aero Bottle for S$35 - the update one with the anti splash cap. Quite reasonably priced i tot since US is selling online for US$19.95 without all the taxes and freight added.

Next Step Accessorize

First you get the bike, then you get the rest of the accessories to make it your very own. Above i have mapped out what needs to be in place for my next race. I thought pink is quite nice to make the bike highly visible from afar in the crowded transition area. Don't laugh! hahahahahahaha

This Should Be My Last Bike Until I Turn Pro.

After much deliberation i have made this (Felt B12 '08) my ride for my 2009 season. Got some well taken photos from ST forum to post here first as a prequel. Very aero, very slick and very inviting to ride. Will share more.

Saucony's Grid Type A2 - My New Shoes

This is Saucony's Grid Type A2, a lightweight racer for the normal to slight flat footed runner with a neutral to mild pronation.

I just got a pair of this last weekend from running lab since my current asics is starting to split apart form the sole. But more importantly this Saucony is on 20% discount and it doesn't cost alot over S$100 which is quite attractive for me.

I always wanted to try out Saucony & Avia and with the offer plus the tri features (i.e. large breatheable holes to keep dry, easy slip-on finger rings & nice flashy color). Haha vain, i know.

Think this pair is good up till 21km distance given the limited cushioning which is ideal for the type of events i do. Yeah new shoes! Now i want to go and do more running.

For those who are into the multisports lifestlye will somehow also have their eyes peeled to the magazine racks for the latest reads. There are quite few titles out there trying to get you interested to their monthly issues. You can find them mainly in Kinokuniya or Borders and sometimes Times Magazine. Here's a run down on the 3 most popular imported mags found on Singapore's rack.

1) 220 Triathlon

this is the first mag i bought since i started browsing the shelfs to get myself more acquainted to my new lifestyle. The reads and content are easy reads and layout is not bad; the balance of ads and write up is acceptable. One complain is that too much focus is given to UK realted events and athletes, but this is a Brit driven tri mag anyhow.

2) Triathlete Mag

Always have very nice attractive cover and liners to get your attention. Its a US mag so has lots of up to date news on US tri scenes. Content quality is rather good. But the main complain is that every issue is Rather thick but this is due to the high ration of ads inserted to squeeze every marketing dollars. If you like ads of fast bikes and gears again and again, this is for you.

3) Inside Triathlon

This is another US mag that comes in a unconventional paper size, somewhat squarish. First look you get is that the magazie is always adorned with very motivating images of athletes. The other detail i notice initially was the thin-ness of the mag. So most people will have doubt about the value of money spent compared to other mags sharing the same shelf. Don't be mistaken my friend. I will advise that you seriously take a good few minutes to browse through the content - its top notch quality. If you are looking for a tri mag that talks about real tri related issues and genuinely want to improve yourself, this is the mag. Anyway, i got myself subscribed to them this month. And after some simple calculation i'm only paying about S$8 per issue - that is more than S$4 cheaper than what you find on our shelves out there.

ITM Ultra VIP clip-ons. Still waiting for uncle to order for me for the past 2 weeks and still no news. This is the one an only that will fit my ITM Millenium Wing handlebar. Its aluminum @ 590 grams.

Feel My Heart

Got this little gadget, Polar RS100, over the weekend and found it very useful after trying out. Hope to improve the quality of my training sessions with this and to stay injury free too. Bought it at House of Times at Lucky Plaza for S$200 it comes with 2 years warranty. Got myself an additional bike mount for the watch for S$16. A* went around with me to search for the shop and even offered to pay half - so sweet.
